I want to tell you about a feeling I know too well. It is the feeling of being alone. You are building your business, making decisions, trying to figure out what fits in the business world and with our faith. And it can feel like you are the only one.
I never wanted to be a solopreneur, figuring it out in different corners of the internet, trying to piece together what fits in the business world and with our faith. But I felt so alone all the time. Like I was just on my own.

Why Community Matters for Christian Entrepreneurs
There was a shift for me when I stopped trying to do it alone.
We started calling each other just to stay sane. Two solo entrepreneurs, checking in, encouraging each other, helping each other resource things. And at the end of those calls, one of us would say, “Okay, Go Team.” And the other would respond, “Go Team.”
It was such a beautiful reminder that we were not doing this alone.
That is what community does. It reflects back to you what you cannot see. It challenges the voice in your head that is very often naturally deprecating. It speaks grace when you cannot speak it to yourself.
What Accountability Looks Like For Christian Entrepreneurs
Let me tell you what accountability looks like for me. It is not someone standing over me with a checklist. It is not shame or pressure.
Accountability is someone speaking grace to you.
I struggle with insecurity like crazy. I can go into what I call “worm theology.” I look back at my journals from my young adult years, and I have ripped pages out because I thought God was saying these harsh things to me, but He was not. I was really harsh with myself.
Having someone speak against that voice, having someone say, “You are okay,” is mind-blowing. I need human beings who love Jesus speaking grace to me, because I am not good at that for myself.
That is what accountability does. It helps you tell the difference between a lack of discipline and a genuine capacity change. It helps you stop pushing through when you are already at your edge.
When I was living on 20-minute nights, barely functioning, barely sleeping, you were the one who helped me recognize, “Hey, you are getting close. What are you going to do differently? How are you going to take care of yourself today?”
That is community. That is someone saying, “Laurie, you are such a hard worker. You are not a lazy person. You want to be working. So something else is going on here.”
Where To Find Community And Accountability
So how do you find this kind of community?

It is a place where we combine all of these things that we tend to separate: faith, emotional health, and smart business coming together in a way that actually makes it sustainable for your life.
We are building a business in Christian community with other Christian entrepreneurs, building their businesses with encouragement and accountability and systems that actually fit real life and these varied seasons we are talking about.
We are just there to cheer people on and say you are okay. Like, you are okay.

Here is what we want you to do. Not a long list. Just one thing.
Reach out to one person.
It could be a friend you already have who is also building something. Send them a message. Say, “Hey, I am trying to build my business with faith and sanity intact. Would you be up for a coffee or a quick call sometime?”
It could be joining our Soulful Strategy community. One group. One introduction. See if it feels like a place where you can be real.
It could be a fellow entrepreneur you admire. Send them a note. Tell them something you appreciate about their work. You never know where one connection might lead.
Just one connection this week. That is it.
You Are Not Alone
This is what I want you to hear. The loneliness you feel is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that you need what God designed you to need. Connection. Community. People who love Jesus speaking grace into your life.
I have needed human beings who love Jesus speaking grace to me, because I am not good at that for myself. And I think you need that too.
We want you to know you are not alone. I do not want anybody to feel like that. It is a terrible way to feel.
So whatever season you are in, whatever you are building, you are not alone. We are in it with you.
